What age do you teach from?

I’m happy to teach students of any age, including young children. The main thing is that your child is able to stay reasonably focused and engaged for the length of their lesson and feels comfortable taking part independently.If you’re looking for music-learning activities for a younger child who isn’t quite ready for one-to-one lessons yet, I’m also exploring the idea of creating an online toddler music-learning space. If that’s something you’d be interested in, I’d love to hear from you!

Do I need any previous musical experience?

Not at all! I teach complete beginners as well as students with years of experience. Lessons are adapted to your current level, whether you’re picking up an instrument for the first time or looking to develop existing skills.

What instruments do you teach?

I offer online piano, singing, guitar, songwriting, and theory lessons.I am also happy to go through DAW basics and recording your music.

What can I work towards in my lessons?

Your lessons can be shaped around whatever you’d like to achieve. This could include preparing for an exam or performance, improving your technique, learning songs, songwriting, music theory, building confidence or simply getting better at your instrument.There’s no single structure that every lesson has to follow. We’ll work out what is most useful and enjoyable for you.

Do you offer exam preparation?

Yes. I can help students prepare for exams including ABRSM, LCM, Rockschool and Trinity, as well as other individual performance goals.

Please note: these include classical, musical theatre and pop

Do I have to take music exams?

Absolutely not! Exams are available for students who want that structured goal, but they’re completely optional. Lessons can simply be about enjoying music, learning songs, developing your skills or working towards your own personal goals.

Can I learn songs that I choose?

Absolutely. I love incorporating music that students genuinely enjoy. Your favourite songs can be a great way to develop technique, musicianship and confidence while keeping lessons engaging and personal.

Can I learn more than one instrument?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You can focus on one instrument or combine piano, singing and guitar depending on your goals and interests.

But, please remember that you need to make time for practice on all instruments 😬

Do you teach music theory?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Music theory can be incorporated into your private lessons. Monthly students also have access to the optional weekly group music theory class as an additional membership benefit.
